Tuna's Not Fish. It Comes In A Tin!

Thu May 22, 2008, 9:31 AM
So...if, you live in England you will have heard it all over the news....

The OCR exam board mucked up big time. They printed the answers on the back of the exam paper.

That was my exam paper. And I didn't even notice!

But it doesn't count anyway. Anyways, my real point is, I was relying on that paper to boost my grade, and now its coursework only. -_- Oh well.

By the way, to all the people who watch me...
Have a big

In case you guys were wondering why I haven't produced any art lately, and kind of haven't been commenting much:

I'm in the middle of my GCSEs! :O

So basically I get about five minutes on here, in between revising.

June 12th is the big day, exams are over. I'll 'see' you all properly then! :D

Update. At Last :)

A classic moment in school today.

The fire alarm started to go off as our teacher was midway through some admin.

So, obviously, we all got up to leave. Her next words:

'Oi! Wait a minute, just let me finish this.'

As you can tell (as I am still here) it was a drill.

Anyway, I got tagged:

1. Name one book that changed your life.

Tales Of Earthsea, By Ursula Le Guin. If you wanna know why, ask

2. One book you've read more than once.

One? I read somewhere that the average adult reads 300 books in their lifetime. I think I have more than that on my bookshelf, and I've read most of them twice! Also, mostly they're series, so:

The Old Kingdom Series By Garth Nix
LOTR.
Dragonflight
Tales Of Earthsea
The Harry Potter Series. I' sorry Hay!

3. One book you'd want on a desert island.

All of the LOTR books in one volume. That's a lot of words, especially if you include the appendixs (?). Might keep me occupied for a while :). And I could read it over and over.

4. One book that made you laugh.

Suprisingly...now I think about it quite a few...Bridget Jones, Georgia Nichollson (Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging) and Mogget. :)

5. One book that made you cry.

The Harsh Cry of the Heron. I was actually in floods. Then I read it again and I still cried. How I Live Now and Before I Die had the same effect. As well as Harry Potter 7. :blushes:

6. One book you wish you'd written.

I like (in fact I do) write my own books. But probably LOTR, if I had to pick.

7. One book you wish had never been written.

I know she's a classic author and its probably a classic book...but I'll Never Be Young Again by Daphne Du Maurier (or is it Iris Murdoch?). People die, he attempts suicide...and somehow it actually bored me to tears.

8. One book you're currently reading.

One? I have four on the go...I'll say the Canticle to Leibowitz, cause its the best...although going steadily downhill as my favourite character just got killed off.

9. One book you've been meaning to read.

Err....The new Garth Nix one..the Seventh Tower or something.
Ooo! I just remebered: Heaven's Net is Wide!

10. Now tag five people.

Anyone else who wants to do it can. :)

It wasn't me!

:o I got tagged. Oh dear. Cue a long journal that no one willl actually want to read.

Although actually I like reading these things. Am I nosy?

Anyway:

Why are you best friends with your best friend?

I have many good friends...but only one best friend ( who I hope knows who she is). She's different from all the others because I can tell her anything and she'll always understand. And because we can manage to laugh hysterically for hours for absolutely no reason.

What bothers you the most about other people?

When they only think about themselves.

Would you ever marry for money?

No. I'm one of those hopelessly romantic people - 'true love' etc. (that sounds stupid)

Do you prefer to text message or talk on the phone?

Phone calls. Though face to face conversations beat both. I don't like texts cause you can't put emotions in. Same on the phone, its hard to tell what people are thinking. Though I do love long extremely random phone calls. :)

Do you believe that 30 really is the new 20?

? It would be nice...cause then you could live for another decade.

If you had a crush on someone would you tell them?

Probably. I kind of have before.

What is one of the toughest things you ever had to do?

To be honest, I have led a pretty sheltered life and I don't think there is really anything that sticks out. I guess going to rowing for the first time was quite hard because I'm quite quiet and not that confident and I had to meet a bunch of strangers on my own. But they were nice. :)

Name a challenge you are faced with on a reg basis?

Nothing really. Being the peacemaker among my friends maybe, they tend to argue a lot.

Do you cry a lot?

The short answer is: yes. Loads of things make me cry, even when I'm happy.

Do you have a plan?

Sounds like one of those corny action movies. I have a PLAN! Couldn't you specify a little more? Have a plan for what? What I'm going to do tomorrow? How to build a teleporter? By the way, the answer to both of those is no...basically I don't have a plan. I have an IDEA. They're better. :D

Do you think it's possible to only love one person for the rest of your life?

Yes.

Are you close with your family?

Yes. Some of them are annoying at times, but whenever I'm mean to them I feel really bad.

Name things that you are good at?

:S Um..I dunno. I'm quite clever I guess. Aprt from that no much.

Name things that you are bad at?

Being assertive. It's funny - people are always telling me to be more assertive, but they never say how.

Your thoughts on Karma?

Yay!

What does the 5th message in your inbox say?

Its from Bebo... I have a new friend. :)

What did you reply to it?

You can't. (So nothing)

What do you do for a living?

I am a leech. I use my parents money. But when I go to college I will get a job!

Do you honk your horn at old people when they are driving bad?

No, its not their fault. But they are annoying - if they want to drive slowly thats fine, but they should pull off the road every so often!

If you could live in any other place, where & why?

Austrailia. Because I used to live there and I loved it.

What animal best represents you & why?

Ummm...probably a cat - one of those scruffy moggies that are still completely adorable, because I like hugs :) but I tend to hide my feelings quite a lot and as they say, you can never tell what a cat is thinking.

What is the craziest thing you ever did?

Errr...well, at the moment, the event that comes to my mind is when me and Anne managed to crash into a tree. We were rowing down the river, yes, the river. And somehow we managed to find a tree to hit.
Also, there was the time that I was dancing on one of those swivel chairs you get in offices, to 'Kids in America', played at full volume. I don't think I fell off...

If you could go back in time & live in any decade, which would it be & why?

Lol...I'm sure this question just appeared from nowhere. The era of the hippes, methinks. The 70s, was it?

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

I would like to fly. It would be cool. I would have big fluffy feathery wings.
Or maybe being able to snese people's emotions, cause it would make life a whole lot easier, and be better than mind reading, which I think would get a bit wearing as you would hear things you didn't want to.

What would your life's theme song be?

I actually cannot think of anything appropriate...

What would your life movie be called?

The Not At All Very Interesting Movie?

If you could star in any t.v. show, which one would it be?

Docotr Who. Or Torchwood.

If you could bring back 1 famous person from the dead for a day, who & why?

I'm not sure, maybe Anne Frank, because its sad she died so young.

If you became president, what would you do first?

Try to bring about world peace, dude.

If you got one tattoo, what would it be?

A little star. On my shoulder.

What is your most missed memory of childhood?

When we lived at my Grandma's, some good friends were next door. We all used to run over the hill and down into this little quarry and play mud slides down the bank, and monster at the bottom of the hill. And we used to risk life and limb...probably quite literally...by sliding along the trunk of this tree that had fallen over, but was horizontal, held off the floor by its branches. We called it the 'Crocodile'. *sigh* All the days were long and sunny then, and the skies blue. :giggle:

What is your greatest accomplishment?

I don't think I'm really old enough to have one. My rug will be when I finish it, as it has taken my over a YEAR! And my novel after that. And probably my GCSEs when I get through them.

Things you think about:

1.
2.
Not a lot. ;)
Or do I?...
Um...just stuff.

Who are you?

Me. :)

What keeps you awake at night?

Just random little woriies. But sometimes my imagination keeps me awake - not in a bad way, I just think of sotries I want to write, pictures I want to draw.

If you could go back in time and change something, what would you change?

I don't think I would change anything major, because then I might be in a different place now. I guess one time would be when I could have gonme out with someone, but I didn't seize the moment.

Are you happy with your life at the moment?

:S Umm...Fairly. I'm a bit worried about my exams.

What do you like most about yourself?

My memories. Happy times. :D

Do you ever wish you were someone else?

Suprisingly no. I am happy with who I am. There are little bits of me that I would change, but I don't actually want to be anyone else.

What's the worst thing anyone has ever done to you?

Being too wrapped up in themselves to notice that I was down and needed cheering up. Normally I am quite a happy sort of person, so normally there's a reason that I'm not feeling good.

Do you have a dark secret that you have never told anyone?

Not as such. But quite a few people have told me their dark secrets, and I haven't told any of those.

What do you like most about your friends?

I matter to them. They care about me.

Have you ever come close to dying?

I come closer with every second. How morbid. Well, I did a course at school that basically involved hanging off cliff faces, attached by only a few ropes.
And I almost got run over once, which was my fault, STUPID person! I'm careful now. :)

What one thing do you want most in this world?

To fall in love. And for the love to be reciprocated, obviously.

How do you want to be remembered when you die?

Someone who made a difference.

Oh, there was another one! What do you think is the best music video ever?

Damien Rice - 9 Crimes. Everyone tinks it's a bit odd, but I like it. And Nightwish - Amaranth is good too.

And I tag:

:icondemondarkeclipse:

and

:iconrip-666:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And another thing - I was having an argument this last night, basically saying (a) I was wrong and (b) that the subject was not on teh Internet.
So, as I canno find this on the Internet, I will now have to add it, to myself right!

*anti climax*

- If you had no fingernails then whenever you apply to much pressure to the sides of your fingers the bone will pop out the end. With lots of blood.

Yeah. That was it. :)

Oh dear...
I got tagged...not nessecarily a bad thing, but who am I going to tag! Eight other people isn't it?

And I just found out, you have to post these rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Tags should write a journal / blog of these facts.
4. At the end of the post 8 more persons are tagged and named.
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged.

Anway, eight completely random facts coming right up:

1. My name is Sian, which sounds really interesting, but actually is just the Welsh way of saying Jane. But I still like it. :)

2. I travelled most of the way round the world bfore the age of 10. I lived in Australia for 2 years, and I have been to Spain, France, Portugal, Singapore, New Zealand, California...and Wales, if that counts. *laughs*

3. I LOVE snow. A couple of flakes fall from the sky and I will be running around squealing like a hyperactive four year old.

4. My starsign is Leo and like a Leo should I have extremely annoying hair that never does what I want it to. I am also very stubborn. But I don't like being the centre of attention the whole time.

5. At school, ther phrase I hear most often from the teachers is "Please speak up". I can hear myself fine, so why can't everyone else?!

6. I got a Photoshop for Christmas. And a tablet too!

7. My favourite band is Nightwish and only three people I know had heard of them before I started going on about them. And two of those three I only know from the Internet.

8. I am always starting 'little projects' that then take me at least a year to finish. Such as my rung: I am making a rag rug for my school art project and so far it has taken me a year and I have almost fnished.

Well, there you have it. Now I have just have to work out who to tag. Can you tag back?

Tagged: ~DemonDarkEclipse, ~RIP-666, ~TelepaficCheesemake,

I will edit this in a minute when I have found some more people to tag...

Photgraphy...

Mon Nov 26, 2007, 10:39 AM
So I have a lovely, brand new (ish, for my birthday in August) camera.

But the point is, photgraphy is much harder than it looks. Seriously. You take a photo and it you think it'll be ok. Then you get it on the computer or wherever and its all blurry or out of focus, or the zoom's wrong.

So what's brought on the rant?! I was trying to take picutre...(duh). There is this kind of blocked up door thing on the side of the house. I thought it would make a good picture - the arch is still there and stuff. But anyway, I took some photos of it and they ALL turned out squonky!

S'not fair. Might download one anyway.

Meh.

Do journals have to be about arty things? Cause it is an art site...But on the other hand a journal is a blog...kind of...

That was too much thinking. I'll just go to sleep. You're allowed to. Its winter, which apparently means we are all tireder (is that a word?)than normal. Or something.

  • Listening to: The fire. Fires are actually very loud.
  • Reading: Errr...the journal.
  • Watching: Guess what? The screen!
